A young uilleann piper from County Carlow, Colm Broderick, has been named Ceoltóir Óg for 2025 at the prestigious Gradam Ceoil TG4 awards.
The announcement was made at a special ceremony held at Iveagh House, Dublin, celebrating Ireland’s rich traditional music heritage.
Mr. Broderick, who has already earned multiple All-Ireland titles and the Seán Ó Riada Bonn Óir Medal, is known for his exceptional talent and skill.
He has performed alongside top musicians on stages across the globe, showcasing his deep understanding of Irish musical traditions.
In 2019, Broderick was entrusted with the historic pipes of the late Liam O’Flynn, a rare and significant honor that highlights his contribution to the preservation of the uilleann piping tradition.
As part of his recognition, Colm will feature in Ireland’s programming at the upcoming World Expo in Osaka, Japan, further showcasing the global impact of Irish traditional music.
