Cartoon Saloon have been nominated in two categories for this year’s Annie Awards

It’s a big night for a team of local animators as the animation awards are taking place.

Cartoon Saloon have been nominated in two categories for this year’s Annie Awards.

Outstanding Achievement in Production Design, Outstanding Achievement in Writing and Best Animated Broadcast Production for preschool children.

Those are the three categories Kilkenny’s Cartoon Saloon will be hoping to come away with silverware from tonight.

The local animators will be hitting the red carpet in California all thanks to their hugely popular Puffin Rock series.

The series, which follows Oona and Baba and their daily adventures, was premiered on RTE Junior in early 2015 before Netflix picked it up in September of that year.

Episode 59, The First Snow is the one that’s been nominated for tonight’s awards which take place in UCLA’s Royce Hall, Los Angeles, California from 7 o’clock.
