Kilkenny’s women in politics are to the fore of an event today ahead of International Women’s Day.
Mary Hilda Cavanagh, who’s heading for her fifth decade as a representative and is the country’s longest serving continuously elected female county councillor, will be the focus of an in-depth conversation.
While she’ll be joined by her Fine Gael colleague Fidelis Doherty with others from the council Deirdre Cullen (FF) and the Green’s Maria Dollard as well as Sinn Féin TD Kathleen Funchion for panel discussions.
It runs from 9:45am to 1:30pm at County Hall.
