The Citizens Information Service could be hit by strike action early next month.
SIPTU members have voted to stage industrial action on October 7th in a row over pay, after Government failed to implement a Labour Court recommendation.
SIPTU Community Sector Organiser, Brendan Carr, says they are open to talks, noting; “We’re always going to make ourselves available to discuss to try and resolve disputes because it will have to be resolved”.
He adds; “But we want to make it very clear that the workers are not going to withdraw this strike action until they see that the Government are going to commit to the Labour Court recommendation, the terms of that recommendation, and we’ll always make ourselves available to engage with the other side”.
