County Kilkenny councillors have agreed a three-year strategy of road upgrades in the Callan-Thomastown Municipal District.
At last evening’s monthly meeting councillors agreed to allocate €11million to help fund 80 projects.
Cllr Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere is Cathaoirleach of the local electoral area and has told KCLR News; “We’re hoping to get even more funding but we’ve agreed a three-year strategy to upgrade the roads around the municipal district so it gives a really good blueprint for the area and we have capacity to take more funding if we can get more from the Government but for now we have a three-year strategy agreed which is fantastic”.
