Court appearance due for young motorist picked up by Gardaí in Carlow over weekend

One young motorist’s due a court appearance after being picked up by Gardaí locally over the weekend.

The Kilkenny Roads Policing unit on secondment to Carlow on Saturday evening intercepted the driver who’d recently gotten a learner permit and was unaccompanied.

It transpired that he was also uninsured and had his vehicle seized – he then tested positive for Cannabis and Cocaine.

The man was arrested and taken to Carlow Garda station and awaits a court appearance.
