Dead pony has been lying in Carlow river for more than three days now

A Carlow man says a dead pony has been left in a river in the town for more than three days now.

Stephen has contacted KCLR News saying he came across the horse in the river at the New Burrin Weir on Saturday morning.

He said it looks like a young animal and it’s not the first time it’s happened there:

“I go down that way every morning for a walk and I go to fish down there as well. I’d say it’s only last year’s pony.

“Every couple of months you come across one dead in the field – because they took several ponies dead out of the field there two years ago and last year they took three or four out of here.”
