The death has been announced of a well known Kilkenny artist.
City man David ‘Davy’ Holohan, also known by the Irish variant of Daithí Ó hUallacháin, died on Sunday (1st February) following an accident and just a day after his brother Edmond ‘Ned’ Holohan.
He’s survived by his daughter, siblings, extended family as well as a wide friendship base which included many from across the arts.
Davy often spoke about his work on KCLR and was recently in studio arranging a date to chat about a forthcoming exhibition.
He’ll be reposing in Johnstown’s Funeral Home in Kilkenny this Friday (6th February) evening from 5 to 7pm, with Prayers from 6pm, before his Requiem Mass at 10:30am on Saturday in St John’s Church after which he’ll be laid to rest in St Kieran’s Cemetery.
