A new multi-million euro innovation and enterprise hub for the South East is to be set up in Carlow.
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke made the announcement while visiting Carlow town last evening.
€7million’s to go towards Catalyst HQ to operate an acceleration centre for manufacturing and trade facilitation, serving as a brokerage hub which connects businesses with essential tools, trade networks, infrastructure and impartial technical advisory resources according to FG Deputy Catherine Callaghan.
She says; “The Smart Regions programme is great news for our area. It will help create new opportunities, support local jobs and encourage innovation in sectors that matter to us. Balanced regional development is one of the core principles of this Government, and this scale of investment into Carlow and Kilkenny shows we are putting our money where our mouth is when it comes to supporting local enterprise, supporting entrepreneurs and facilitating very high levels of innovation and excellence right here in Carlow and Kilkenny, and across the country”.
