It’s setting up to be a wet and windy day with weather warnings all around.
A Status Orange one for wind kicks in as Storm Bram hits the country this morning – all counties now fall under it.
Keith Leonard from the National Directorate for Fire & Emergency Management says they’re prepared for what’s to come; “Local authorities have outdoor crews in place and their severe weather assessment teams are stood up now in anticipation of the conditions today, there’s a lot of work happening to try and anticipate the storm conditions and particularly to try and respond to any areas where flooding might occur over the next couple of days really”.

Services
Over 3,500 in our locality, farms and businesses are without power this afternoon as Storm Bram moves over the country from south to north.
There’s 1045 homes in Tullow impacted, 1,807 in Ballyhale, 559 in Kilkenny City, 83 in Castlecomer, 67 Graiguenamanagh, and 18 in Callan and 13 in Mount Misery
Water supply too appears to be okay – Uisce Éireann will have that here
Road Closures
The L7440 Aglish to Carrigeen Road is closed due to fallen tree and live power lines.
ESB crews have been notified.
The R703 Thomastown to Graignamanagh road is closed due to big tree down. The road will remain closed for the remainder of the day. Diversions are in place.
Travel & Transport
Iarnróid Éireann says most of its services are so far not affected but will have updates here: the Waterford to Kilkenny / Carrick-on-Suir services suspended due to flooding at Plunkett Station, Waterford with bus transfers underway. (Uopate at 13:53 – Train Station has re-opened)
Transport Infrastructure Ireland will have road updates here.
So far, two Aer Lingus flights have been cancelled at Shannon this morning. Aer Lingus has also cancelled two flights at Cork Airport, one inbound and one outbound to London. It’s not yet clear if operations at Ireland West Airport have been affected.
