Farmers feel the main political party has forgotten them and that their decisions have a knock on effect.
They’re back protesting today, this time outside the Fine Gael think-in in Limerick, again over delayed farm payments and changes to the nitrates derogation.
Kilkenny County IFA Chair Jim Mulhall says they have a similar message to what they told FF’s representatives earlier in the week: ”Farmers feel the main political party has forgotten them. The decisions they make have a knock on impact. We believe there was flexibility there that the Minister didn’t avail of. We spoke to all the Fianna Fáil TDs and this week to Fine Gael and we encourage them to go back to the commissioner and have flexibility around what was agreed upon last week.”
