Pat O’Neill from Bennettsbridge has lost his seat in the Seanad.
The outgoing Fine Gael Senator has been eliminated in the past 20 minutes at the count for the Agricultural Panel.
He will not be seeking a recount.
Carlow Councillor Jennifer Murnane O’Connor is running for the Labour panel.
