Five people injured after crash outside Kilkenny Castle

Five people have been injured after a crash in Kilkenny City.

It happened at around 4.30pm on the Castle Road just opposite Kilkenny Castle when it’s understood one car rear-ended another which had stopped to let someone out.

Ambulances and the Gardaí were at the scene and a number of those involved have been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
