Carlow & Kilkenny will be without a representative when the new European Parliament convenes.
Our new constituency of Ireland South – made up of some Munster and some Leinster counties – returned 4 candidates in the elections – 3 from Cork and 1 from Kerry.
Brian Crowley of Fianna Fail, Liadh Ni Riada of Sinn Fein and Fine Gaels Sean Kelly and Deirdre Clune will take up the seats in Brussels.
Brian Crowley topped the poll and former IFA President John Bryan thinks if Fianna Fail had another strong candidate like John McGuinness they would have secured 2 seats.
