Freedom of Kilkenny to be awarded to Eamon Langton later today

Eamon Langton is being awarded the Freedom of Kilkenny City later.

A special meeting of the city municipal district’s been called for this evening by Mayor John Coonan where the prominent businessman will be celebrated for his 50 years contribution to local tourism, economy and culture.

The honour was last bestowed on hurling icon Eddie Keher in 2018 and recipients before him include in 2015 the late Kieran Crotty, former Mayor, with Mary McAleese awarded in 2009 as well as Brian Cody and the late Séamus Pattison, former Ceann Comhairle, who were both presented with the accolade in 2008.
