15 extra jobs have been created at a county Laois based company which opens its new €6million timber pallet facility today.
The CJ Sheeran Group‘s new 50,000 square foot facility in Mountrath is capable of storing 150,000 pallets.
Managing Director Mark Sheeran, Chair of Forest Industries Ireland, says their employment numbers will be added to, noting; “At the moment we employ around 450 employees, this will add another 15 employees to the group so that’s 465 overall across Ireland and in Manchester in the UK, predominantly the employment is around Laois as well, we’re a major employer in Laois”.
He adds; “We have also commissioned a new pallet line and two more kilns so that’ll increase our production capacity for the company overall to service our clients both in Ireland and the UK, that’s in addition to the warehousing that’s being opened so it’s a massive investment”.
