Emergency services contacted KCLR news to warn motorists of icy conditions lingering across Carlow and Kilkenny.
A number of road crashes were reported this morning with driving conditions said to be treacherous in parts.

There was a road closure between Graiguenamanagh and Thomastown earlier as the Gardai dealt with a single vehicle crash.
More recently Gardai, fire and ambulance services attended a crash on the Tullaroan road where conditions were said to be very poor.
Both areas have since been cleared and gritted.
