Gardaí out in force across Carlow and Kilkenny to clamp down on mobile phone use

Local Gardaí are clamping down on mobile phone use by drivers across Carlow and Kilkenny over the next few days.

Over 28 thousand drivers were detected nationwide holding a mobile phone behind the wheel last year – that’s 76 a day.

This nationwide operation will run for the next few days.

Gardai say distracted driving, including talking or texting on a mobile phone, is a high risk activity and must be addressed.
