If you’re offered items at a price too good to be true Gardaí are warning that you take heed.
It’s as a spate of burglaries and thefts have seen a range of tools and gardening equipment taken from homes locally.
The most recent daytime incident saw a home in Kilkieran, Ballyfoyle hit as Sgt Conor Egan outlines; “So in this instance the injured party discovered that a number of items of garden equipment was taken from her garage, now we’ve seen this time and time again, a chainsaw and two strimmers being some of the equipment stolen, so again look it obviously transport would have been needed so anybody who saw anything of a suspicious nature”.
He adds “If you’re offered a chainsaw or strimmers or any gardening equipment at a knock-down price just bearing in mind that it could be the proceeds of this crime or a similar type crime; generally if it sounds too good to be true it is too good to be true”.
