A series of Garda checkpoints and planned searches are underway in Thomastown and the surrounding areas today.
The next phase of the local Garda Operation Storm started at 7am this morning and will continue until around 7pm this evening.

Kilkenny City was the last place to be targetted just under two weeks ago with over 100 Gardaí deployed on that occasion.
It resulted in a significant number of arrests while 29 animals were seized and 68 checkpoints conducted.
Sergeant Ted Hughes told KCLR that Thomastown will be getting much the same treatment today.
