A Kilkenny farmer had his work recognised last weekend when he was presented with honorary life membership of the IFA.
Ballyragget man Paddy Delaney was among invited guests to recieve recognition from the Irish Farmers’ Association at their dinner dance last Saturday night.
Meanwhile, local auctioneer George Candler picked up a special award from the organisation for his continued service to farmers for 45 years.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny presented both men with their awards, alongside those who took part in an historic protest against farmers rights at the Dail in 1966.
