Gowran park gears up for Thyestes day

The countdown is on to the racing highlight of the year at Gowran park, the Goff’s Thyestes Hanicap chase.

The Willie Mullins Vesper Bell as well as the Jim Dreaper-trained Los Amigos currently head the betting at around the 7-1 mark

The three-mile contest is due off at 3.15pm.

The seven-race card at the Kilkenny venue gets going at 1.15pm and general manager  Eddie Scally is feels there is a special atmosphere at the track on Thyestes day
