House prices in Carlow and Kilkenny have seen a 2% increase in the past three months, according to the latest survey from the Real Estate Alliance.
The price of an average second-hand three-bed semi-detached home in County Kilkenny has risen from €298,500 to €304,570, marking an increase of €6,070.
In Carlow, the average price for a similar property has gone up from €250,000 to €255,000, an increase of €5,000.
The survey also highlighted the growing number of first-time buyers in both counties. In Carlow, 45% of property purchasers were first-time buyers, while the figure in Kilkenny was slightly higher at 47%. This suggests that younger buyers continue to drive demand in these regional markets, despite the rising prices.
The findings indicate that while house prices are steadily climbing, the market remains active, with first-time buyers playing a key role in shaping current trends.
