One of Carlow’s biggest bin collectors is predicting a definite increase in fly-tipping as pay-by-weight charges are to be introduced.
From the 1st of July this year you’ll be required to pay for your bins based on how much your waste weighs and the prices are to be set by each private collector.
Concerns have been raised by many people that they’ll end up paying much more for their bins than before.
Ray Whelan told KCLR Live today he’s predicting real problems with illegal dumping once this comes into force.
