We’re on the search for Christmas decorations as some of the most prominent locally are set to come down today.
A lot of work went into ensuring both Carlow and Kilkenny were twinkling with festive adornments were quite strong in the lead-up to the big day, brightening hearts and preparing us for festivities.
In the aftermath, as many returned to their regular daily lives, the talk turned to the ‘come down’, some choosing to pack away by the end of December, others sticking with tradition and opting instead for the 6th of January.

In Kilkenny city there’s been some amusement to see celebratory trees remaining at key points including on The Parade.
Yesterday a spokesperson for the county council told us they’re coming down today (Wednesday, 4th February).
But we’re now wondering if any other pocket of our two counties still has some of the festive fun showing?
