Mount Leinster Rangers won the opening game of the Carlow senior hurling championship last night.
The reigning county and Leinster champions beat Erins Own 0-15 to 0-12 in Dr Cullen Park.
In the Kilkenny senior hurling league, Ballyhale Shamrocks overcame a stubborn St Martin’s side 2-16 to 1-11.
In the other senior game of the night, James Stephens recorded an emphatic win over Fenians, winning 6-18 to 0-6.
In the intermediate hurling league, Graigue Ballycallan beat Dunammaggin by 4 points.
Later today, the Kilkenny senior camogie side will be hoping to make it three wins out of three in the championship.
They travel to Ennis to face Clare at 2.30.
