A local councillor has emphasized the need to be “ahead of the game” when preparing for more frequent storms in the coming years.
Speaking after yesterday’s Castlecomer Municipal District meeting, Cllr. Maurice Shortall highlighted the potential danger posed by trees near power lines in North Kilkenny during storm conditions.
He stressed that addressing these risks now is essential to safeguarding local communities.
At the meeting, Cllr. Shortall’s motion to investigate dangerously positioned trees and ditches in the area was passed.
The motion aims to prevent damage and ensure public safety ahead of future storms.
