The Kilkenny Famine Experience Project is being officially launched today.
It’s taking place in the Workhouse Square in MacDonagh Junction from 2 o clock with music, special guests and more to mark to occasion with KCLR’s Sue Nunn the MC for the afternoon.

Amongst the dignitaries today are the UK Ambassador, Robin Barnett, and Australian Ambassador, Richard Andrews.
Marian Acreman from MacDonagh Junction says there was a community element to the project as well as hundreds of people came and gave their fingerprints to be forever linked to the now nameless people who passed away in Kilkenny’s workhouse.
