Kilkenny Mayor Joe Malone calls on men to get themselves checked following his own health scare

The Mayor of Kilkenny is encouraging all men to undergo a health check.

Cllr Joe Malone had a major operation on the 23rd of February after getting a cancer diagnosis involving his prostate.

The 61-year-old is a former member of the Irish Defence Force member and is very active, being a daily walker.
