Kilkenny cyclist and Rás na mBan winner Mia Griffin has been announced as the grand marshall for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in Kilkenny City.
The Glenmore native made history last year as the first Irish winner of the prestigious Rás na mBan in over a decade, a significant achievement in the cycling world.
In an exciting new addition to the parade, organisers have also introduced a Junior Marshall role, with Castlecomer’s Enya Cox Dempsey, the Junior Eurovision Éire winner, filling this position.
Festival organisers are expecting over 100,000 people to attend the events in Kilkenny, promising a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere throughout the city.
Mayor of Kilkenny City, Andrew McGuinness, made the announcement earlier today on The KCLR Daily, expressing excitement for the upcoming festivities.
