Kilkenny’s ring road project has taken a significant step forward with €200,000 in funding for the next stage of development.
The funding follows a strategic assessment report, marking the beginning of a larger phase of the project.
Councillor Maria Dollard welcomed the news, noting that while this is just the first step, it shows the project is progressing. Speaking to KCLR News, she emphasized the importance of the ring road to alleviate traffic and boost the city’s economy. “The completion is long overdue,” she said.
Once completed, the ring road is expected to reduce congestion and improve access to key areas. While much work remains, this funding brings Kilkenny closer to a major transport upgrade.
