Crowds of people have descended on Kilkenny for this weekend’s Rhythm and Roots Festival which is now in it’s 19th year.
The festival launched on Friday evening in the city and continues with a full line-up of events today.
There’s a star-spangled theme to today’s programme of events for the Kilkenny Rhythm and Roots Festival.
Chicago singer/songwriter Ryley Walker gets things under way at 1 o’clock this afternoon with a performance in Cleere’s.
Then at 2 o’clock the Texan troubadour Hayes Carll takes to the stage in the Set Theatre.
Some of the evening highlights include the return of Indiana singer/songwriter David Corley in Ryan’s Bar at 8.
And at 11, the Delta Saints – a Nashville-based band, steeped in Country, RnB, Soul and Gospel are in the Set.
It all comes to a close tomorrow evening and you can find out more on kilkennyroots dot com.
