Kilkenny TD John McGuinness thinks the culture of the Gardaí could be about to change

John McGuinness has said he thinks the head of the new policing authority will change the culture of the Gardaí

The local Fianna Fail dail deputy was reacting to Josephine Feehily’s plans to call the Garda Commissioner before two public meetings to discuss the O’Higgins report.

The two met for a private meeting last week – into allegations of Garda malpractice – the authority then released a statement to outline serious concersn at the impact on victims and management failures within the force.

Deputy McGuinness says he believes Ms Feehily will force necessary changes.
