Kilkenny TD to report on conditions for childcare workers

A local TD has been appointed to report on the working conditions of people in the early childhood sector.

Sinn Feins Kathleen Funchion who’s the parties’ spokesperson will look into issues facing workers such as low pay, job insecurity and burnout.

Speaking to KCLR news Kathleen says the standards for working in childcare are very high with many requiring a third level degree before they can get employment.

However she says they don’t see that reflected in their wages.
