Kilkenny Water Safety urge locals to swim in patrolled areas this summer

Kilkenny water safety have issued an appeal for locals to swim at patrolled areas this summer.
The call comes from the local group following the recent spate of good weather we’ve been experiencing locally.
On average 11 people drown per month across the country – with an increase of people entering the water on sunny bank holidays.
Speaking to KCLR, Garry Knox from Kilkenny Water Safety says there’ll be five areas patrolled by lifeguards in Kilkenny.
They’re in Thomastown, Inistioge, The weir on Bleach Road, The meadows & Graiguenamanagh.
