A much-anticipated recreational area in Kilkenny officially reopened yesterday following a significant transformation.
The newly upgraded Lacken Boardwalk now offers a welcoming space for residents and visitors to enjoy walking, running, and cycling in the city.
The improved boardwalk features a wheelchair-accessible pathway, marking an important step towards making Kilkenny more inclusive and disability-friendly.
Sustainability was also a key focus throughout the project, ensuring the area remains a vibrant, eco-conscious space for the community.
KCLR’s Anna Lynch from the newsteam went along to the opening.
