The Kilkenny Mart has been closed down over breaches of the Covid regulations.
Trading has been suspended by the Department of Agriculture for the weekly beef sale on Thursday after the breaches were observed by inspectors.
Management were told on Wednesday that they need much stricter enforcement of the Covid-19 regulations before it can resume trading.
The mart is located at Cillín Hill where Kilkenny’s HSE vaccination centre is also operating.
CEO Michael Lynch has told KCLR News that they will need buy-in from the farmers to ensure that the rules are enforced in future but be vowed that they would be open again by next Monday
