Local families are facing the realities of the housing crisis
KCLR Live heard this morning from 2 separate families in fear of homelessness as the homes they’ve been renting are put up for sale by the landlords.
Jason in Kilkenny told how he and his family spent the last 2 nights in a hotel and he says the council have told him they cannot help with emergency accomodation.
Meanwhile a Carlow family in a similar situation say they’ve been searching without any success for somewhere to live.
They have until Saturday week to find a place but are living in fear that they might not find what they need.
Meanwhile a Carlow Councillor says its time that the Government stepped up to provide the money needed to address the housing shortage.
Jennifer Murnane O’ Connor says its a growing problem and Carlow has no emergency accommodation available for people.
She told KCLR news she is inundated with locals who fear being made homeless.
