Kilkenny farmer says cuts to milk prices are “unsustainable” for the sector

A local farmer has said Glanbia’s decision to cut milk prices once again is “unsustainable” for the sector.

John Robinson was speaking after the news that the company cut base milk prices to 22 cent a litre, their lowest level in seven years, amid the ongoing downturn in dairy markets.

The KIlkenny based company announced their decision earlier this week.

Speaking to KCLR, John Robinson, a farmer from Kilmanagh and a member of ICMSA says this will have to be looked at in the future.
