Hospitals & health care facilities are making provisions for the bad weather.
Many of the services have been cancelled for the coming days.
The HSE has issued a statement to say it has a ‘Severe Weather Plan’ in place.
St Luke’s Hospital has now cancelled all of its outpatient appointments for this afternoon and all elective and outpatient appointments at the hospital for Thursday & Friday have been cancelled as well, as have Thursday’s Ante Natal Booking Clinic & Friday’s Gynaecology Clinic.
The Emergency Dept and Acute Medical Assessment Unit will operate as normal with priority given to the most urgent cases.
University Hospital Waterford says that due to patient safety they’ve decided that all non-urgent activity including Outpatient Clinics and elective surgery is being cancelled for today (Wednesday), tomorrow (Thurs) and Friday. Patients deferred will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
All emergency and urgent services will continue to be delivered.
This will be reviewed on Friday 2nd March.
Whitfield Clinic and the UMPC Whitfield Cancer Centre will have updates on procedures etc over the next few days.
