Local mother campaigning for respite care for children wants HSE dismantled

A local parent of a child with disabilities is calling for a complete dismantling of the Health Service.
Linda Comerford says the ongoing debacle over the provision of overnight respite services for Carlow/Kilkenny show that it’s just not fit for purpose.
A house had been found in Bagenalstown but plans there fell through over issues regarding ownership and the fact that it was allocated for adult respite rather than child respite.
Since then Linda says local parents have been rallying together to lobby their local Dáil representatives and she told KCLR News the HSE simply needs to be overhauled.
