Made in Kilkenny has officially opened its Christmas pop-up shop.
The former KBC Bank hosts the work from the multi disciplinary craft group offering members the opportunity to meet their aspiration of having excellent local craft at the heart of Kilkenny city, as noted by Chairperson Claire Molloy.
The group was founded with a mission to promote the county as the premier destination in Ireland for authentic Irish crafts of exceptional quality and it’s the 17th year they’ve operated an outlet, their first at this new, very central, location where The Parade meets Rose Inn Street.
The hosting building was acquired by Kilkenny Industrial Development Company (KIDCO), a registered charity set up with an aim of undertaking projects to promote business and industrial development locally and it’s given over the premises to a range of local groups and organisations, including Yulefest, Savour and Barnstorm Theatre.
KIDCO Chair Gerry McGovern outlined at last night’s event how his team was delighted to support MADE in Kilkenny and was actively engaged in planning how to use the space to foster future positive developments in the city centre.
While Mayor of Kilkenny John Coonan was also on hand for the occasion.
MADE in Kilkenny opens daily 10am to 6pm until Christmas Eve with pottery, ceramics, glasswares and so much more.
