Gardaí are looking for witnesses to an assault in Kilkenny on Halloween.
Andris Vitus – who’s originally from Latvia but has been living locally for the past 15 years – had a bottle smashed over his head by a group of young people in Larchfield.

He claims they were after egging his house and he approached them to ask them to clean it up.
However, they then threw fireworks at him along with beer bottles.
Speaking to KCLR, Sergeant Peter McConnon says the Gardaí are investigating this incident.
