A local victims’ rights campaigner has described as “grotesque” the fact that his sister’s killer can apply for parole next month.
John Whelan’s sister Sharon and her daughters Zara who was 7 years old and Nadia who was 2 years old, were murdered by Brian Hennessy at their home in Windgap in 2008.
John is a founding member of victims’ rights group, AdVic, who have been campaigning for the option of parole after 7 years of a life-sentence to be changed.
Speaking to KCLR Live this morning, John says his family are being forced to relive the pain all over again.
