It looks like the Government has set a date for the Carlow Kilkenny by-election.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny last night revealed he expects the same-sex marriage referendum will be held on Friday May 22nd.

Its been planned all along to hold that with the vote to fill the Dail seat left empty since Phil Hogan took up the role of EU Commissioner.
It means candidates have just 3 months now to campaign for your votes.
6 have declared so far and there could be a 7th before the weekend is out.
Today is the closing date for Labour hopefuls to get their names in with a candidate likely to be selected on Sunday night at a convention in Leighlinbridge.
Fine Gael will pick their candidate on Thursday March 6th.
