Hello Carlow How RU? – that’s the question many will be asking today.
The Carlow Mental Health Association annual initiative appeals to people to reach out and connect with each other, in person while socially distanced, and online.
Organiser Jo Donohoe is raring to go & she’s been summing it up for KCLR News this morning by saying “The big thing for us is around the connection piece and particularly now more than ever this year, 2021, a lot of people are quite isolated and I think if somebody connects with another person and shows them that they really are willing to ask the question and really listen to the answer I think that has massive power”.
She adds ” Anyone can say hello, today if you’re in a supermarket, if you’re picking the kids up from school and you look at somebody just use eye contact and have a connection and say to them ‘hello’ and it doesn’t even have to be how you are it can be what time does your shift finish, it can start with ‘God this is some day’ and lead into something else”.
And it seems the campaign’s something that’s set to go nationwide – more on that here.
