€1.6million worth of suspected cocaine’s been found this week under Operation Tara.
Four men were arrested after searches were undertaken by Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau with regional units from the Northwestern, Eastern and Dublin Metropolitan regions targeting drug trafficking networks.
Aged in their twenties, forties and sixties, associated vehicles were also seized alongside diamorphine valued at €529,000 and a small quantity of psilocin/magic mushrooms with €34,300 in cash.
Two of the men were charged with drug trafficking and money laundering offences and have appeared before Kilkenny District Court and the Criminal Courts of Justice, while the other two remain at garda stations in Dublin.
Investigations are continuing.
