A file is being prepared for the DPP.

The 22-year-old man remains in a critical condition at St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny this morning.

Gardaí were called to the scene on Love Lane in Castlecomer at around 7 o’clock on Saturday evening, where the young man was discovered with stab wounds.

Three men – two in their 30s and one in his 40s – were arrested in connection with the stabbing and were taken to Kilkenny Garda Station.

However, they were released without charge yesterday.

Gardaí are anxious to speak with anybody who was in the Love Lane area of Castlecomer on Saturday night, or anyone with information to contact them on 056-7775000.

Investigations are ongoing.
