Drivers are being urged to take extra care on the roads this morning following frost and fog overnight.
Temperatures plummeted to below -3 degrees Celsius in parts of Carlow and Kilkenny throughout the night.
Motorists are being asked to used dipped headlights when driving through fog and to slow down as there’s a risk of black ice in places.
Forecaster with Met Eireann John Eagleton says the frost and fog will clear gradually this morning.
