Moves for a long-awaited primary care centre appear closer for one County Carlow town

Tullow is a step closer to getting its long-awaited primary care centre.

A planning application for its construction is expected shortly, after a developer was appointed to the project.

It’s among a number of initiatives green-lit for the Carlow Kilkenny area as the HSE Regional Forum South members met for their first meeting of 2025 – full details here.

The offering intends to take pressure off of larger regional hospitals including St. Luke’s General Hospital, local councillor Brian O’Donoghue stressed the importance of seeing the project through to completion, after what he called a number of “False dawns” when he spoke to KCLR News’ Martin Quilty;
